Hello, I purchased an NVR branded OWS.
It has only one ethernet port and can support up to 4 ip cameras.
but I'm not able to add them.
I've setup the network and static IP of NVR but in the list of IPC, there is a button Search ... and it doesn't find them.
There is not a Manual add ... button.
They NVR is correctly connected to newtork.
What can I do?

network setup with a simple configuration,
the NVR and the cameras (devices) should be connected to the same lan switch ( 8 ethernet ports, 6 used )
all the devices must have the static ip address assigned, included in the network range,
choosing ips which are not in conflict with the existing dhcp or existing statics
the ip first 3 octects must be the same for all the devices and the fourth must be a specific number for each device
the switch is connected to the internet router ( "home style" 4 ethernet ports, 1 used )
using a "cross" cable or pushing the "cross" button associatet to the switch port
the solution keeps the cams lan traffic separated, influencing only the lan switch
and routing it to the internet router only for internet access pourpose
the NVR should find the cams, try it or describe your network topology

I have different cameras on the network but basically for test purpouses I connected 1 cam to modem/router and NVR conected to the same modem\router. NVR still no find connected camera.
My usual configuration is with one cam connected to the modem\router, other three connected via Wifi and Wifi client.
Same network. DHCP is active on modem\router but cameras has static IP outside DHCP range. NVR the same.

Same network. DHCP is active on modem\router but cameras has static IP outside DHCP range. NVR the same
... IP from the same (dhcp) router range, i.e,
192.168.1.1 ROUTER
192.168.1.254 NVR
192.168.1.253 CAM1
....
check the user and psw on cams, if required
check if a NVR & CAM "group" is necessary
try to post the pics of the NVR & CAM network settings

otherwise somebody with a specific know how on OWS shoud help

here there are. Yes same router range. Password and user there is not written explicitly on manual nor groups.

so, the 4 cams were added, they are listed with the status "no video",
from your last pic, a vga screen, an usb device and the power supplier are connected to nvr
the ethernet is not connected, how can you verify the dialog between the devices without ethernet?

Don't pay attention to ethernet cable in that picture. Obviously I tested the system with ethernet cable connected.
Moreover, I have not added cams. They are not discovered.

from the first pic, there are 4 cams added,
if I understood well 4 is the max cams managed by the nvr,
so this is why you cannot add more,
you can remove them all and try "search" and "add"

but I have not added any IPcam! I swear! Look at discovered cams!!! no cam has been discovered!
I saw it, 4 cams were added (they are in the "added IP camera" list), probably the nvr software doesn't search for more

if possible, try to select a cam in the list and manually "fix IP" (button)

maybe cams aren't onvif standard? I'm not sure about this
the last
but, before as a second try, remove 1 cam and search ....

yes, but if cams are not onvif (I don't knwo) I took them on eBay two years ago......
there is a way to bypass this problem?

it's not possible to remove them.... I suppose there are no cam added.... those entries are only as placehoders.... I clicked remove all but nothing appeared. Fix IP button displays only a windows with a checkbox Fix IP range 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.254 . but moreover it is not deselectable.
